What does “Non-Commercial” mean in Creative Commons?

“Non-Commercial” is a feature that can be added to a Creative Commons license to restrict a creative work’s use. “Non-Commercial,” (or NC) means that any copy or derivative of the licensed work cannot be “...primarily intended for or directed towards commercial advantage or monetary compensation.” Doing so would be an infringement of the Creative Commons license.
Licenses can have multiple features including, “Share-Alike,” “No-Derivatives,” “Attribution,” and “Non-Commercial.” These licenses can stand on their own or combined to create different licenses.
